June 2005 the destination??? The Great Denver Gathering of the Bastards.




I wasn't going to take the TT because i had a feeling that something might go wrong. At the last minute i changed my mind and drove it anyway. The family would be riding in a separate car.

Just over the border in the Utah desert i passed a car coming out of a pass. It was a slight downhill and before i knew it the speedo read 130 so i let it go to 150 and let off. About an hour later.. 30 miles from family, i decided to do some flybys. 3 pulls at WOT and 15lbs of boost later i hear a woosh sound on the 3rd and final (for 2 years anyway)pull. The car ran like only half the bank was firing and zero boost. I limped it in and the next day left bumm’d and Z- less in the alternate car for Denver.

These guys said, no worries its probably a boost leak


These guys offered to help.


and eventually did..


A good time was had and i gave the ultimate sacrifice to be there. At least I came away with a trophy that my wife won so all was not lost.

The trip back was uneventful.

Got it back home and stripped it down to this

But hold on we skipped a few steps.....

When i did a compression test of the cylinders if came out zero in two of the three on the passenger side.


Remember those spark plugs???

This is the reason for 0 compression







Pistons were all solid not a scratch on them.



Can you say detonation?
